Parking garages don’t have a reputation for being beautiful, inspiring and photogenic. On the contrary. Mostly they are dark and oppressive – the kind of buildings you want to get out of as soon as possible. What would crime films do without parking garages?
Luckily there are exceptions on the one hand and on the other hand I find it exciting to go out with the camera, to look for beauty in the ugly and to photograph it. This multi-storey car park is one of the exceptions, especially when it comes to the access ramps. Nevertheless, it remains a parking garage – the beauty is just less well hidden in the ugly.
